This week, I had the immense pleasure of officiating the wedding of Len and Stephanie at the picturesque Villa Borboleta in Carvoeiro. As their celebrant and ordained minister, it was an honour to guide them through this incredibly special day.
The Ceremony Begins
The ceremony began with a warm welcome to all the guests who traveled to witness Len and Stephanie’s union. I introduced myself and asked everyone to stand for the bridal party’s entrance. It was a touching moment as Stephanie was accompanied by her sons, Luke and Josh, symbolizing the unity and strength of their family.
Family Blessings
Instead of the traditional giving away of the bride by her father, we celebrated the blessings and support of her entire family. Luke and Josh joyfully offered their blessings for their parents’ union, highlighting the profound significance of family in their journey together.
A Joyful Announcement
Amidst the ceremony, we shared some joyous news. Luke, the eldest son, had recently proposed to his girlfriend, Jade, in the stunning setting of Santorini. It was heartwarming to see the love and happiness radiating from the family as they celebrated this beautiful milestone.
Remembering Loved Ones
We took a moment to remember Stephanie’s sister, Nina, and her father, Paul, who couldn’t be there physically but were certainly present in spirit. Their memory and influence were acknowledged as part of the foundation that shaped Stephanie into the wonderful woman she is today.
Exchanging Vows and Rings
After 31 years, Steph pulled out her vows and blew off 31 years of dust, making everyone laugh, especially Len. The exchange of vows was deeply personal and heartfelt as Len and Stephanie promised to love, honour, and support each other, reflecting the deep bond they’ve built over the years. The exchange of rings symbolised their love and commitment, forged through shared experiences and mutual respect.
Declaration of Marriage
With joy and pride, I declared Len and Stephanie husband and wife. They sealed their marriage with a kiss, and it was clear to everyone present that this union was the beginning of a beautiful new chapter in their lives.
Signing the Register
As the newlyweds signed the wedding certificate, the guests had a moment to relax and reflect on the beautiful ceremony they had just witnessed. The atmosphere was filled with love, joy, and anticipation for the future.
A New Beginning
Len and Stephanie, now Mr. and Mrs. Williams, were introduced to their family and friends as husband and wife for the first time. The cheers and applause were a testament to the love and support surrounding them. As they walked up the aisle, surrounded by their friends and family showering them with petals, it marked not just the end of one chapter but the beginning of a beautiful new journey together.
This wedding was a celebration of love, family, and the beautiful journey that Len and Stephanie have embarked on together. It was a privilege to be a part of their special day, and I wish them a lifetime of happiness and togetherness.
