As a celebrant, there are moments that stay with you forever, and the wedding of Matthew and Marianne at Casa Branca in Tavira was certainly one of them. It was a perfect June day, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and love.
We began with a warm welcome, and I reminded everyone about the bride and groom’s wish for an unplugged ceremony, encouraging guests to capture the moment with their hearts instead of their phones. The setting was simply stunning, a true reflection of Matthew and Marianne’s love story.
Marianne walked down the aisle with her father and stepfather, David and Barry. It was a touching moment when they gave their blessing for the union, a gesture that truly set the tone for the ceremony.
In front of their closest family and friends, Matthew and Marianne stood together, radiating happiness. We honored Matthew’s late father, Adrian, acknowledging his presence in spirit and his influence on their lives. It was a poignant reminder of the importance of family and love.
Their vows were heartfelt and sincere. Matthew promised to honor, love, and support Marianne, while Marianne pledged the same devotion to Matthew. As they exchanged rings, it was clear that these simple bands symbolized much more than just metal; they represented the beautiful journey they have embarked on together.
I then had the joyful responsibility of declaring them husband and wife. Their kiss sealed their commitment, and the guests erupted in applause. It was a moment of pure joy and celebration.
After the ceremony, Matthew and Marianne signed the wedding certificate, witnessed by their loved ones. The day was filled with laughter, tears of joy, and heartfelt moments that I’m sure everyone will cherish forever.
As I wished them well, I shared a hope for their future: that their love would be both modern enough to navigate life’s complexities and old-fashioned enough to cherish timeless values of trust and respect.
Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Poole for the first time was a privilege and an honour. It was a day that celebrated not just their love, but the love and support of everyone around them.
